Tips & Tricks : Egg for your hair

 

Egg is one of nature’s little treasures. It contains protein and all the vitamins, minerals, amino and essential fatty acids to make it a complete meal. Egg is a rich source of protein and biotin, two ingredients that are added to many hair products to improve hair strength and health. The amino- and essential fatty acids help to moisturise your hair and improve the hair structure by smoothing out the “scales” of hair strands and thus giving more shine to your hair naturally.

You can make your own cost-effective and intensive hair treatments with ingredients that you have in your kitchen. Use any of these recipes once a week for intensive hair treatments that your hair will love. Increase or decrease the ratios as desired, and discard any unused product. All Hair Types  •  Damaged Hair  •  Oily Hair  •  Normal to Dry Hair

 

All Hair Types:

Nourish your scalp, and combat frizz with this easy yoghurt and egg treatment. Greek yoghurt is full of protein, fat and nutrients.
It’s probiotic properties are good for the scalp and can help calm a sensitive or inflamed scalp.

Ingredients:
1x Whole Egg
2x Tablespoons thick greek (preferable) or double cream yoghurt

Whisk them together until creamy
Work the mixture into scalp and through to the ends of the hair until it’s covered
Cover with shower cap and let sit for 30 minutes
Rinse with cool water and follow with light to mild shampoo (if needed)

 

Damaged Hair:

Revive damaged hair with egg, banana and honey treatment.
The oil and milk will add extra strength and shine, while the banana and honey increase the moisture provided by the egg.

Ingredients:
2x egg yolks
1x banana
3x tablespoons of milk(coconut milk preferable)
3x tablespoons honey
5x tablespoons olive oil (or almond oil)

Mix well, apply on scalp and work lightly through hair concentrating on ends
Cover with shower cap and let sit for 45-60 minutes
Rinse with cool water and follow with light to mild shampoo (if needed)

 

Oily Hair:

This will remove excess oil and make hair shiny

Ingredients:
2x Egg whites
0.5x teaspoon lemon juice

Beat mixture until fluffy
Apply to entire head and hair
Cover with shower cap and let sit for 20 minutes
Rinse with cool water and follow with light to mild shampoo (if needed)

 

Normal to Dry Hair:

This will help nourish your scalp and hair, and make hair shiny

Ingredients:
1x Whole Egg
0.5x teaspoon lemon juice
1x small avocado

Beat mixture until fluffy
Apply to entire head and hair
Cover with shower cap and let sit for 20 minutes
Rinse with cool water and follow with light to mild shampoo (if needed)
