Soap ‘n’ Things is an online store, and operates from Kuilsriver, Cape Town as well as certain markets around Cape Town.
Delivery/Shipping : Shipping is made at an extra cost and prices for shipping are estimated at checkout. Order handling time for goods that are in stock are dispatched within 2-5 working days unless otherwise stated. If we are unable to dispatch your order within that time frame we will contact you via email with an estimated dispatch date. Soap ‘n’ Things cannot accept any responsibility for delays which may arise from delivery services or postal strikes/busy periods Christmas, COVID-19 lock-down etc. Please allow extra time for shipping in instances such as these. Delivery Time: You will receive a shipping notice once your order has been dispatched, together with a waybill / tracking number. The delivery time is dependent on the shipping agent’s turn-around time. Standard shipping is via road freight, which usually takes 3-5 business days depending on the hub, route and outlaying area.
Insurance: The shipping charges are without insurance. If you would like to include insurance kindly ensure that you choose shipping insurance or advise us in writing or in your order confirmation to inform us. We reserve the right to contact you should your order require an additional shipping or insurance amount – we will inform you of this prior to shipping.
Delivery Address: Soap ‘n’ Things is not responsible for any loss or unauthorised use of a product, after it has delivered the product to the physical address nominated by you.
Collections: Collections are welcome by prior arrangement only. You will receive a notification once your order is ready for collection together with the collection address and suitable time slots.
Walk-in Trade: We do not allow walk-in trade currently, however collections for orders made via the online store, WhatsApp or via email are welcome to be collected by prior arrangement.
Free shipping is limited to regional areas and exclude services such as same day, early bird, Saturday, after hours, public holidays, express, delivery to chain store/embassy/government departments and delivery to remote plots, townships, farms, power stations and outlaying regions. We reserve the right to use PostNet delivery for areas outside of major city centres.
Surcharges for the following services : same day, early bird, Saturday, after hours, public holidays, express, delivery to chain store/embassy/government departments and delivery to remote plots, townships, farms, power stations and outlaying regions and/or extraordinary heavy shipments (shipments with weight and/or volumetric dimensions exceeding 15kg) may be applied which may not be included during the check-out process. We reserve the right to contact you should your order require an additional shipping or insurance amount – we will inform you of this prior to shipping.
Payment : Orders will not be dispatched until full payment is received by us, unless goods are collected from our place of business and paid for in cash. To view our payment options, click here.
Privacy : Soap ‘n’ Things does not sell or pass on any of our customer’s information, i.e name, address, email address etc to any third parties. Please read our full Privacy Policy here.
Damaged goods : Products are deemed to have been received in good order after 7 days of receipt. You may return any damaged products within 7 days after receipt for a full refund provided they are unused and in still in Soap ‘n’ Things original packaging.
Shipping Insurance : Our courier agents offer limited liability cover for goods damaged or lost in transit. Insurance has to be specifically selected during checkout and does not apply to Paxi, PUDO or PostNet deliveries, and is not offered by default. Glass jars are specifically excluded from liability cover and will therefore not be applicable to be returned or replaced under our Damaged goods section.
Returns/Cancellations : If you are not satisfied with the goods you have a right to cancel your order and return product provided they are unused and in still in their original Soap ‘n’ Things packaging and receive either a full refund, a credit in lieu of future purchases or replacement product. Please inform us in writing before you return goods indicating the reason for your return. Please wrap the package securely. We will contact you by email regarding your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. Return postage will only be refunded if goods are damaged and/or in an unsatisfactory condition and insurance was included with your original order’s shipping costs. Refunds will be made via EFT, minus shipping and any costs involved in the crediting procedure. Soap ‘n’ Things cannot be held responsible for any goods lost in transit, and we also advise the use of insured shipping to also return any products.
Specials and Black Friday:
Courier companies across the country face a massive increase in volumes during Black Friday and festive season periods so delivery times will be slower. Please allow for additional time for your orders to be shipped, otherwise, you can arrange for collection by prior arrangement.
Black Friday is valid for a single day only and all specials are only valid while stocks last. We reserve the right to withdraw any product on sale.
Payments for Black Friday orders must be made within 24 hours to secure your order.
All sales are final – no refunds are allowed for orders placed if the item goes on sale after the order has been completed.
Soap ‘n’ Things products are uniquely made just for you. Every batch is individually hand-crafted, therefore size and appearances may vary from time to time, and there may be a slight variation in appearance from batch to batch because of the nature of handmade products.
